After a 45-year career in broadcast news, Dan Cummings retired from NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV, ABC) in 2021. In his 37 years at Channel 9, he anchored and reported for every major newscast and hosted Channel 9’s public affairs programs “Central Issues” and “Newsmakers.”

Dan was born and raised in southern Cayuga County. He holds a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Geneseo, a master’s degree from Cornell University, and honorary degrees from Le Moyne and Onondaga Community College.
